What happens when a signal comes in

The panel reports
Your system sends the signal over cellular, internet, or both. It carries the account, the zone, and the type of event, so the operator knows whether it is a rear slider, a smoke detector or a panic button before they pick up the phone.

An operator verifies
The station follows the procedure set up on your account. For most burglary signals that means calling the premises and then working your contact list. For fire and panic signals the procedure is faster, because those are not events you verify before dispatching.

Dispatch
If the event is not cancelled with a valid passcode, the operator dispatches the Polk County Sheriff, your city police department, or the fire district for your address, and passes on what the panel reported.

How much is alarm monitoring per month?
Basic monitoring starts at $25.50 a month. Adding Total Connect Remote Services, which is app control, custom alerts and live video, starts at $5.99 a month on top of that. Your exact rate depends on what is being monitored and how the system communicates, and we will tell you on the phone.
Can you monitor a system another company installed?
In most cases yes. We test what is on your wall, confirm it communicates reliably, and take the account over. Ademco and Honeywell equipment is what we are factory authorized on, and we can work with a good deal of what else is out there. Details are on our alarm system takeover page.
Where is the monitoring center?
In Florida. It is UL Listed, FM Approved, and has been in business since 1978. Your signals are not routed to a facility in another time zone, and during a Florida storm the operators handling your account are looking at the same weather you are.
What if the power goes out or the internet is down?
The panel runs on battery backup and reports over a cellular path, so a power cut or an internet outage does not silence it. Loss of communication is itself a supervised condition, which means if the panel ever stops checking in, the station knows.
Will monitoring lower my homeowners insurance?
Florida insurers commonly offer a discount for a centrally monitored burglar and fire alarm, and the UL Listed status of the station is usually what they ask about. We can provide an alarm certificate for your carrier. How much it saves is between you and your insurer, so ask them for the number before you count on it.
What is a false alarm going to cost me?
That depends on the jurisdiction rather than on us. The Polk County Sheriff's Office runs a false alarm reduction program with alarm registration, and cities in the county administer their own rules. Most of the false alarms we see come from a system nobody was trained on, which is why we spend time on the handover rather than leaving you with a manual.
Do you monitor properties outside Polk County?
Yes. We serve Polk County, Orlando and the surrounding Central Florida area. Monitoring is not limited by how far the truck has to drive, because the signal goes to the central station rather than to us, so a property further out is monitored exactly the same way a Lake Wales one is.
What if nobody answers when the station calls?
The operator works down the call list you gave us in the order you set it. If nobody on the list answers and the signal has not been cancelled with a valid passcode, the response follows the procedure on your account, which for a burglary signal normally means dispatch. Keeping that list current is the single most useful thing you can do for your own account.
Can I put my system on test while work is being done?
Yes, and you should. If you are having the house painted, a floor replaced or a contractor in and out of doors all day, call us and we will place the account on test so the crew does not generate a dispatch. It takes a phone call and it saves everybody a false alarm.
