How much does Total Connect cost?
Rates start at $5.99 per month on top of your alarm monitoring, which itself starts at $25.50 per month. What your rate is depends on what you are adding, particularly whether video is included.
Will Total Connect work with my existing panel?
It depends on the panel and its communicator. Many Ademco and Honeywell panels support it directly, and some older ones need a communicator upgrade to get there. We can tell you which situation you are in after looking at the equipment, and if you are with another company today, our alarm takeover page covers how switching works.
Can more than one person have the app?
Yes. Household members can each have their own access, and event history shows which user armed or disarmed the system, which is a genuinely useful thing to have when you are trying to work out what happened.
Does the app replace calling the central station?
No, and that distinction matters. The app tells you what is happening. The central station is what dispatches police or fire when a signal comes in and nobody cancels it. Self-monitoring by phone alone means an alarm at 3am is only as good as whether you woke up.
Is video stored, or only live?
Both are possible depending on what you set up. Live view is standard with video service, and clip recording on events can be added. What you need depends on whether you want to look in on the property or to keep footage, and those are different products at different rates.
Does each person in the house pay extra?
No. Household members get their own access under the account, and the event history shows which user armed or disarmed the system. That per-user record is one of the more genuinely useful things the service provides.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Call us and we remove that access. This is the same reason we recommend individual user access rather than everyone sharing one login: when one device goes missing you revoke one thing rather than changing everything for everybody.
Can I use it on a tablet or a computer?
Yes. Total Connect works from a phone, a tablet or a computer, anywhere you have an internet connection. For seasonal residents who spend half the year out of state, the computer view is often the one they use most.
